Department of Political Science

Political science in Deshbandhu College is a top-rated course. The knowledge and skill imparted to the students under this course empower them to compete in various fields, such as, teaching, higher academic research, law, bureaucracy, mass media, finances, and non-governmental organizations. The impressive faculty, whose publications have appeared in nationally and internationally acclaimed journals and publishing houses, has been a beacon for the students to navigate the uncharted waters. The course contents blend traditional concerns with issues of contemporary relevance and reflect the philosophy that local concerns are significant even in this highly globalized world. Through its Society – Polienz – the Department organizes many academic activities throughout the year – seminars, lectures, national and international webinars, and educational tours, allowing the students to develop hands-on knowledge. Under its auspices, the recently launched first e-magazine – Our Rationale – has been highly lauded. Furthermore, of late, our students have also been participating in field-works and various surveys, which have helped them gain experience and skills that would stand them in good stead in the future.
